Being inside so much lately, I’ve had a lot of time to make some long overdue phone calls. There’s been one common reoccurring question: What is life like over in Thailand, living on your little island, during all of this chaos? The answer: surprisingly peaceful.
While I’m also writing about it, I thought it would be interesting to start documenting what life is currently like here in Koh Tao. Besides feeling immensely lucky to be living on my beautiful island where there are 0 cases of Coronavirus, I also hope to open important conversations about loneliness, well-being, and mindfulness.
That’s not to say there haven’t been hard days. I miss my family and worry about them constantly – scattered across a few continents (Asia, Europe, and N America). Some days are lonely, leaving me feeling extra far away. But that’s part of the point – let’s talk about it!
Above all, I hope to be able to spread a few rays of sunshine even though it feels like the world is currently shrouded with fear of the unknown. If I could make just one person smile, it’s all worth it! I have never been a huge fan of social media, but, now more than ever, I am grateful for its ability to keep us connected. Sending love, light, and hope to everyone around the world
