While I may have only started this blog a few years ago, and done a pretty bad job at maintaining it until recently, I have been keeping travel journals since the time I could hold a pencil, quite literally.

It all began when I went on vacation with my family to Portugal in first grade. My teacher gave me a blank notebook to fill in while I was away. “These are memories you will have forever,” she told me. Over 10 years later, I still have that notebook, and many more which are filled with my memories of travel.

I’ll never be able to thank that teacher enough. She sparked a passion within me that I know will burn brightly for the rest of my life. I have journals from Colombia, Egypt, South Africa, Alaska, India, and quite a few more.

I never wrote these journals with any intention of having someone read them. They started as something I could read whenever I liked to reminisce. But lately I’ve been thinking: I love to travel, I love writing, and I love sharing my experiences with other people. Why not share pieces of my trip?

For this segment of my blog, I’ll be dusting off my journals and sharing some different journal excerpts. Some from my favorite days, some from my worst, and quite honestly, I’m not sure what else will come up along the way!

So, with that being said, welcome to The Adventure Journal Archives.
